Step away from the noise and give yourself the gift of quiet: unstructured time to rest, reflect, and listen, on 200 wooded acres in Loranger, Louisiana.
Four nights and three full days to open your heart, mind, and soul to God.
This self-guided silent retreat offers unstructured time to rest, reflect, and listen to what’s been waiting beneath the busyness of everyday life. Each retreatant receives a guidebook. Other than meal times and daily Eucharist, you set the rhythm of your days: walk the grounds, read, journal, pray or meditate, nap, or simply sit and be.
Silence is held throughout the retreat, creating a shared atmosphere of stillness that supports each guest’s personal time of renewal.
Your retreat includes lodging, all meals, and amenities. Each guest room is hotel style, with two queen beds and a private bathroom.
Three sessions with a trained spiritual director are available as a $120 add-on. When you register, you can tell us whether you prefer a director who is lay or ordained, male or female, or have no preference.
Whether you’re seeking clarity on a decision, recovering from a demanding season, or simply longing for space to breathe, this retreat meets you where you are. Both first-time retreatants and those with an established contemplative practice are welcome.
The Solomon Center is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana, set on 200 wooded acres on the Northshore: a 12-acre lake, 92 acres of trails, a 5-acre prairie field, and the Chapel of the Holy Cross, where the daily Eucharist is offered. We’re about 65 minutes from New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
Registration is handled on our secure registration page. Questions before you register? We’re glad to help.
